Size Guide

We keep sizing simple. Use your body measurements to find your size, then check the garment measurements to understand how the outfit will fit.

All measurements are in inches. Garment measurements are the measurements of the finished garment and include the ease needed for comfortable movement. They are not your body measurements.

How to Measure

For the most accurate fit

Body Measurements

  1. Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust. Keep the tape comfortably snug, not tight.
  2. Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist.
  3. Hip: Measure around the fullest part of your hips.
  4. Shoulder: Measure from the edge of one shoulder to the edge of the other shoulder across the back.

Garment Measurements

  1. Bust: Lay the garment flat. Measure straight across from underarm to underarm and multiply by 2.
  2. Waist: Measure straight across the waist area and multiply by 2.
  3. Hip: Measure straight across the widest hip area and multiply by 2.
  4. Shoulder: Measure straight across from one shoulder seam to the other.

Measure in inches

Use a soft measuring tape and keep it comfortably snug against your body.

Don't have a tape?

Use a well-fitting outfit and compare its measurements with our garment chart.

Between sizes?

Choose the larger size if you prefer a relaxed and comfortable fit.

A Few Things to Know

Why are garment measurements bigger than body measurements?

Because the garment needs extra room, also called ease, so you can move and sit comfortably.

Which measurement should I prioritise?

For kurtas and tops, start with bust. For bottoms, compare both waist and hip.

What if my measurements fall into different sizes?

Choose the size that accommodates your largest relevant measurement, especially for a comfortable fit.

Will every Ethnic Threads outfit fit exactly the same?

Not necessarily. Silhouette, fabric and construction can affect the fit. Product-specific details are mentioned in the product description.

Is the bottom length the same for everyone?

The standard chart shows 40 inches. Please check the product description for any design-specific length.
